Nimm den goldenen Ring von mir

Band: Church Of Misery
Album: Greetings From Jonestown EP
Origin: Japan (Tokyo)
Genre: Psychedelic Rock, Hard Rock, Doom
Year: 2009

Church Of Misery is one of the many bands that I hope to see live at Roadburn. This is their latest EP and it contains 3 unreleased tracks recorded between 2006 and 2008. Although they are considered to be doom metal, the first track, Jonestown Massacre (Jim Jones), is 12 minutes of fast paced psychedelic hard rock. The next two tracks are considerably shorter and both seem to be covers from German songs. The first (Der Hund Von Baskerville) is Paranoid from Black Sabbath in German. The second track (Marmor Stein Und Eisen Bricht) sounds familiar, but it also sounds very strange. This was limited to only a 100 copies. Enjoy!

Church Of Misery - Greetings From Jonestown EP

Update: I found the two german tracks on youtube and now I totally understand why Church Of Misery wanted to cover them!

awesome post! ah, the germans hehe*. i listened to that drafi d. song a lot when i was a kid, am sure the BJTM cover rules. the 2nd half of that video represents just about everything that sucked about Germany in the early to mid-90s. that was just a grim decade over there when it came to music.

thx as always, glad to see you back in action.

BJTM?

Thanks. If it's any comfort, germany isn't the only place where music was like that! I'm from Belgium, and we still have some very gruesome music. I'm fairly sure that I've heard that drafi song when I was young, maybe some eurosong thing?

Yeah, I'm so busy, But I'm really trying to keep this alive. Thanks for visiting and commenting!

Oh, stupid mistake on my side, I thought he meant the band.
